Unemployment and Type 2 Diabetes Insulin Dependent

My husband was fired on the spot May 6 of this year, because he has type 2 insulin Dependent diabetes and drives a drill rig. His Dr. never told him he needed a waiver, news to my primary, etc. The company denied unemployment with the state of IL - after 25 years of drilling for this company. We spent the summer with very high medical bills for our son and seeing all the specialist. Got the forms in and the government lost some of them. Sent it back it, along with a hearing test. It is going on 6 months with no source of income. I subbed a few days. We both have applied to many companies and head hunters along with a lot of younger people. We just bought a "new" used KIA so he could drive to different job sites and we are stuck paying for it.

After 25 years shouldn't they allow him at least unemployment? Our savings are down to almost none. We are still waiting on the Governement for the waiver. He wasn't having problems.

I understand the law and the liability, but this is crazy.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question. We are reapplying and have an appeal date coming up. From your lips to God's ears.

Take care

Unemployment

Just because his company denied unemployment doesn't mean he is not entiled to it. I would immedietely file appeal with the labor board of your state.
